Part One III: Celebration
1- Super Achievers!
The colonization of humanity’s brand new home has been a resounding success so far, with scores of operators rallying to the cause of terraforming and earning hefty profits while they’re at it.
Not only are people excited with the prospect of a new planet to explore,
but the drones used in the adventure have turned out to be much more efficient and valuable than initially foreseen.
The increased demand for Buildr Drones has led the leaders of this interstellar crusade to decide the momentum achieved should be used to accelerate the terraforming even further.
To achieve this, they have set the Buildr Drone production lines into overdrive mode, dishing out more robotic companions than ever before into the stores of Factory Camp.
Veteran operators -those that hold at least one charger drone- will also be rewarded with a free medium box for their ongoing efforts in humanity’s ongoing quest for a home. This event has become known as “the drop” by the operator community.
2- Limited Burst.
This productivity explosion isn’t set to last forever, as the factories that produce Buildr Drones will be needing substantial repairs and maintenance to recover from the usage of overdrive mode, which is only meant for short bursts of productivity.
It’s likely that we won’t be seeing another drop for a long, long time —
a period that Ryn Lai awaits with impatience, as operators will have to resort to her services if they want to obtain new and improved drones.
Be that how it may, wise drone collectors know that it would be wise to seize the opportunity of the drop while it lasts.
3- Planetary Progress.
The terraforming of humanity’s new home planet is going very well — the Buildr Drones and their skilled operators have even managed to be ahead of schedule, completing the initial scouting of the surface and the clearing of type four (very dangerous/very large) obstacles from it.
More advanced usage of drones will be needed from now on, which will require increased talent and skill from operators. Of course, the value and versatility of their drones will be greatly increased, too, compensating them for their priceless work.
Another piece of good news is that the planet seems to be very hospitable to life, even more than what the initial reports indicated.
However, this has also spurred fears that the predator species that was theorized to exist may be much more common and dangerous than what was originally thought. The figures moving in the shadows in the video footage taken by operators’ drones is certainly terrifying, but because they are yet to interact with us in any way, mankind’s leaders have not deemed them a threat and ordered for them to remain undisturbed by human activity… for now.
