Part One II: Ryn’s Magnificent Scrapyard

Something great is brewing in the midst of factory camp, a place where operators will be allowed to have greater control over their assets, and thereby, greater control over their destinies in this grand, new planet. Ryn Lai, the mastermind behind these developments, is putting together a scrapyard, which is in fact much more than that — it’s a place where operators will be able to exchange land pieces for one-of-a-kind Buildr Drones put together from premium quality pieces scavenged from all sorts of discarded electronics, accidentally destroyed contraptions, and malfunctioning machinery.

Appearance & Composition.

General information:

While most of Ryn’s Magnificent Scrapyard is still undergoing renovations and construction, it already shows signs of excellent architectural taste and masterful engineering. The installations are divided into three parts of equal importance but different functions: the disassembly line, the fusion laboratory, and the storefront.

The Disassembly Line:

This area is where recuperated assets (malfunctioning drones, scrap metal, salvaged electronics) are brought for deconstruction. It isn’t a very beautiful place, but the serrated machines in charge of cutting up all that comes through the door are certainly a thing to be admired — and feared, if you want to keep your limbs attached to your body. These mechanical contraptions constantly make a symphony of dissonant industrial noises, much to the dismay of those working and living near the scrapyard.

The Fusion Laboratory:

After being disassembled into small, inter-compatible parts in the previous stage of production, all incoming materials are transferred to the fusion laboratory, where teams of brilliant engineers, programmers and metallurgists re-configure them into capable drones for operators to purchase and employ in their conquest of humanity’s yet unexplored new home. Since most STEM educated people have chosen to become operators instead of professional scientists, this area is a bit short-staffed — which accounts for the delays in the construction of new refurbished drones. The Storefront: This is the part of the operation clients get to see, a fairly simple but tasteful exposition room, laden with streamlined designs and a sleek, sci-fi vibe. Lady Ryn is typically found here, convincing prospective buyers of the merit of her idea, and of the limitless possibilities of drone reconfiguration. Unfortunately, it currently is slightly crowded, as more and more operators are flocking there to secure a profitable deal for both parts

Operation.

Operators must give something to Ryn’s Magnificent Scrapyard if they wish to acquire one of the unique Buildr Drones they offer, and what better offering could there be for such an institution than an ancient building, probably teeming with scrap metal and electronics for Ryn’s scavengers to collect. This is the easiest way to secure a deal for a “frankenstein” drone; exchanging your building for their building expertise. However, the current queue for scavenging, disassembling and repurposing is very long, which is why this burn action is only available every once in a while during special events, so whenever a spot opens it’s greatly advised to take it without a second thought! The rewards are always worth it, after all…
